Install in four steps

Download. Save the installer with the button above. The file name and size should match the table.
Get past SmartScreen. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, check that the file name is the one above, then click Run anyway.
Install. Accept the licence agreement and choose the folder. The installer adds a Start menu entry and an uninstaller.
Activate once. On first launch, create a free account or sign in. This single online step activates the licence; after it, opening data, measuring and computing need no internet.

Check the file before you run it

Compare the installer's SHA-256 hash with the value in the table. In PowerShell, in the folder you saved it to:

Get-FileHash .\Stream-Setup-0.6.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256

If the two values differ, delete the file and download it again.

Frequently asked questions

Is STREAM Terrain free?

Yes. The public beta is free, with every feature unlocked and no time limit. Academic use stays free in the future as well.

Why does Windows show a SmartScreen warning?

The installer is not code-signed yet, and SmartScreen warns about any unsigned file it has not seen many times. Check the file name and the SHA-256 value on this page, then choose More info → Run anyway.

Does it need an internet connection?

Only once: a free account and one online sign-in activate the licence. After that all processing runs offline and your survey data never leaves the computer. The licence re-checks online only when its offline window runs out.

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

No. STREAM Terrain is a native Windows x64 application; it needs Windows 10 or 11 and a GPU that supports Vulkan 1.3. It does not open inside a virtual machine.
