Technical Specifications The hardware STREAM needs, the file formats it reads and writes, and what it can compute — on one page, with concrete values.
System requirements
Operating system Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
Graphics card A GPU that supports Vulkan 1.3 — REQUIRED. The application will not start without it.
GPU capabilities Compute, transfer, sparse binding and present queues; at least 16384 px texture size
Video memory (VRAM) No fixed minimum — streaming budgets adapt to the card. More VRAM means smoother navigation
Memory (RAM) 8 GB recommended
Disk ~150 MB installed, plus cache space for the data you open
Download size 46 MB
Internet Only for account sign-in. All processing runs offline Supported formats
Elevation data (import) GeoTIFF (.tif, .tiff)
Orthophoto (import) GeoTIFF (.tif, .tiff)
Point cloud (import) LAS, LAZ (.las, .laz)
CAD (import) DXF (.dxf)
Point list (import) CSV, TXT (.csv, .txt)
Export DXF, CSV, GeoTIFF, PDF, KMZ (Google Earth)
Project file .strm Computation and analysis
Volumes Cut/fill against real terrain, a flat level or a reference surface; stockpile volume and tonnage
Cross-sections Sections at a station interval, cubature table, DXF section drawings
Surface analysis Slope, aspect, hillshade, contour generation
Visibility Viewshed and line of sight between two points
Water Flow direction, flow accumulation, stream network, watershed delineation
Sun Sunlight hours including topographic shadow
Change Deposition/erosion between two surveys, volume ± uncertainty, level of detection (LoD)
Measurement Distance, area, elevation and height difference — following the terrain surface How it runs
Data privacy Everything runs on your computer. Your data is never uploaded to a server
Large data Out-of-core streaming: only the area you are viewing loads at full resolution
Rendering Vulkan compute raycaster, 2D and 3D at full resolution
Coordinate systems Reads each layer's embedded CRS; projected and geographic systems
Interface languages English, Turkish, Spanish, French, Chinese, Russian Version and licence
Version 0.5.5 (public beta)
Price Free during beta
Limitations No time limit, no watermark, all features unlocked
Licence A free account registration is required Vulkan 1.3 support depends on your DRIVER version more than on the card model. If the application does not start, the first thing to try is updating your GPU driver from the vendor (NVIDIA / AMD / Intel).
