STREAM CAPTURE · PHOTOGRAMMETRYComing soon
Stream Capture is the photogrammetry side of the STREAM family. It turns the photos of a survey flight into a classified point cloud, surface and terrain models, a true orthomosaic, a textured 3D model and a quality report — on your own Windows computer, accelerated by the GPU, without uploading a single photo. The results open directly in Stream Terrain for volumes, design and reporting.
Stream Capture is in development and not released yet. At launch it will come in the same download as its sister program Stream Terrain; today's download contains Stream Terrain.
Load the photos of a flight and Stream Capture runs the whole chain: alignment with SIFT features matched on the GPU and a bundle adjustment, dense matching with a GPU depth sweep and PatchMatch refinement, ground classification, the surface and terrain models, the orthomosaic, the mesh and its texture, and finally the report.
Three presets set the depth of the work: fast for a quarter-resolution preview, balanced as the default, and maximum for full resolution with extra refinement. Every stage is cached by its inputs and settings, so changing one setting re-runs only the stages it affects, and an interrupted job resumes instead of starting over.
Drones with RTK or PPK record each photo's camera position to a few centimetres. Stream Capture reads that record and georeferences the block directly, weighting each axis by its reported precision.
Ground control points tighten and prove the result: targets are found in the photos automatically, control points and independent checkpoints are kept apart, and the report gives horizontal and vertical RMS, CE90 and LE90 on points the solution never used.
Point clouds as classified LAZ (LAS 1.4), COPC, PLY, CSV and 3D Tiles. Surface and terrain models as GeoTIFF or Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF, GeoPackage or Esri ASCII Grid, with slope, aspect and hillshade derivatives and a LandXML surface. Contours as DXF, GeoJSON, KML, Shapefile or GeoPackage. The orthomosaic as GeoTIFF/COG, PNG, KMZ or MBTiles, and the 3D model as OBJ or GLB.
Each surface model comes with an honesty mask that tells measured cells from interpolated ones, and with a confidence map — so a gap in the data is never presented as ground.
The report covers the flight, the camera calibration, tie points and reprojection error, ground control and checkpoints, and every product — as PDF, HTML, JSON and CSV, in six languages. Points that disagree with the rest of the block are named, so a field measurement can be checked before the result is delivered.
Stream Terrain is the analysis side of the family: it streams large DEMs and orthophotos, measures stockpiles and cut and fill, designs benches and haul roads and writes the reports. Stream Capture produces exactly the data it opens, so together they cover the path from the flight to the signed report.
Each deliverable has its own page; the analysis that follows happens in Stream Terrain.
True orthomosaic on the flight's own surface model, ghost-free blending, GeoTIFF/COG, KMZ and MBTiles.
RTK/PPK direct georeferencing, automatic target marking, independent checkpoints and an accuracy report.
2.5D and full 3D textured meshes, OBJ, GLB and Draco, 3D Tiles and LandXML.

It reads the GPS position and focal length from standard EXIF data and looks up the sensor size in a camera table, so most mapping cameras work. Where the drone writes them, it also reads the centimetre-level RTK/PPK record and the factory lens calibration. Fisheye lenses and multispectral cameras are not supported.
No. All processing runs on your own computer; photos and results stay on your disk.
A GPU with Vulkan support makes feature matching, dense reconstruction and the orthomosaic much faster. Without one, the same methods run on the CPU.
They are sister programs. Stream Capture creates the data from photos; Stream Terrain opens it and does the engineering — volumes, design, analysis and reports.
Large photo sets are aligned in spatial blocks when the camera positions come from RTK, and very large orthomosaics are written as tiled sets.
