Terrain and mining software is usually quoted per seat, per project or per processed gigabyte, and the number you are given rarely includes the second tool you end up needing. STREAM's position today is simpler: the public beta is free with every feature unlocked, and the paid editions are announced but not yet on sale.
The public beta is free. Every feature is unlocked — measurement, volumes, cross-sections, stockpiles, contours, slope, hydrology, viewshed, sun and shadow, change detection, and the bench, haul road and blast pattern design modules. There is no time limit and no watermark on exports.
It is a native Windows x64 application and it runs entirely on your own machine, so there is no processing quota to buy on top and no charge that scales with how much data you open.
Beta — free. All features during the beta, no time limit, watermark-free export, community support. This is what you can download and use right now.
Professional — a planned monthly subscription for individual professionals: all measurement and analysis tools, unlimited projects, watermark-free DXF / CSV / GeoTIFF export, an offline licence and priority support. It is not yet available for purchase and the price is published when it goes on sale.
Enterprise — custom pricing, for teams: multi-licence management, remote licence revocation, custom training and onboarding, and a dedicated support line. Also not yet available; contact us through the website if you want to discuss a deployment.
Academic use is free permanently — for researchers and universities, now and in the future. That is not a beta-period concession that expires when the paid editions launch.
If you want to use STREAM in teaching, in a laboratory or in research, contact us through the website and we will issue the licence.
There is no per-project fee, no per-gigabyte processing charge and no export tier: DXF, CSV, GeoTIFF, KMZ and PDF output is part of the product, not an upgrade.
The people you send results to do not need a licence either. The outputs are the formats mine planning, survey and civil teams already exchange, so nobody downstream has to buy a seat to open your drawing.
Because processing is local, the practical requirement is a Windows 10 or 11 x64 machine with a Vulkan-capable GPU. A normal engineering laptop handles gigabyte-scale surveys; a discrete GPU makes the 3D view smoother rather than making a feature available.

An activated licence validates locally against a signed token for the offline window it carries, so a site network with limited or no internet is a normal operating condition. Once that window elapses, one successful online check is needed.
The licence is bound to a device through a one-way hash rather than through raw hardware identifiers. The data security page sets out exactly what the licence check transmits.
Right now, nothing. The public beta is free for Windows 10/11 x64 with every feature unlocked, no time limit and no watermark on exports. A Professional edition on monthly subscription and an Enterprise edition at custom pricing are planned, but neither is on sale yet.
