GEOTIFF

GeoTIFF Software for DEMs & Orthophotos

STREAM opens GeoTIFF the way surveyors need it: gigabyte DEMs and orthophotos stream smoothly, the embedded georeferencing places them correctly, and you can measure, analyze and export straight from the raster.

What is GeoTIFF?

GeoTIFF is a standard TIFF image with embedded georeferencing — a coordinate system, origin and pixel size — so every pixel maps to a real location. It is the everyday format for DEMs (single-band elevation) and orthophotos (colour).

Because the georeferencing lives in the file, a GeoTIFF drops onto the correct spot and overlays perfectly with other layers in the same system.

GeoTIFF Software in STREAM

Stream large GeoTIFFs

Open gigabyte-scale GeoTIFF rasters out-of-core; only the visible area loads in full detail.

DEM and orthophoto

Read GeoTIFF as an elevation DEM or a colour orthophoto, and overlay them together on the terrain.

Reads the CRS

STREAM reads the embedded coordinate reference system so layers land in the right place automatically.

Export to GeoTIFF

Save analysis results, cut/fill maps and cropped rasters back out as GeoTIFF for GIS and CAD.

Supported formats

GeoTIFF
DEM (elevation) and orthophoto (colour) raster
LAS / LAZ
Point clouds rasterized to GeoTIFF

Frequently asked questions

Can STREAM open large GeoTIFF files?

Yes. STREAM streams gigabyte-scale GeoTIFF DEMs and orthophotos out-of-core, loading only what you are viewing, so large rasters stay responsive.

Does STREAM read the GeoTIFF coordinate system?

Yes. STREAM reads the embedded CRS so GeoTIFF layers are placed correctly and overlay with other data.

Can STREAM export GeoTIFF?

Yes. Analysis results, cut/fill heat maps and cropped rasters can be exported as GeoTIFF.
